Talyah Iannolo

(BLFS Coach)

            Meet  Talyah Iannolo, as she joins the BLFS coaching staff. "Growing up I was always the sporty girl and my favorite subject was always soccer. I started playing club soccer at a young age and continued to play all throughout my teenage years at Thousand Oaks high school, helping clench a CIF title." She decided to attend Sonoma State University to study kinesiology.  

Talyah helped them obtain 5 league titles and 3 NCS titles. She also had the opportunity to coach kids from 3-5 years old in clinics emphasizing on helping them develop their motor, social, and soccer skills. 

Living in Thousand Oaks Talyah works as a personal trainer, yet, she still enjoys playing the sport of soccer. She continues to coach and help the youth of today reach their true potential. Something that she loves doing and wants to continue to do for a long time.

"Soccer is something I've always been passionate about and I want to pass all my knowledge of the game down to anyone who wants to learn."

Karim Barcelo 

(Master Coach)

      Meet Karim Barcelo, as she joins the BLFS coaching staff.  Born in Mallorca, Spain,  he began playing at 5 years old. Using various styles (Futsal, Beach, Outdoor) to develop his skills.
Coach Karim debuted in the Spanish second division in the city of his Balearic city at the age of 18 years old. His professional journey has led him to many  European professional teams, such as Marbella (Spain), Novara ( Italy), Atletico Tetuan (Marrocco), Panserraikos (Greece), and the Orange County Blues (USL), The has also represented his home nation (Spain)  in the Spain international beach soccer championships.

   Marlon Del Valle

( Master Coach )

        Meet Marlon, as he joins the BLFS coaching staff. A native of Los Angeles, California coach Marlon is familiar with the L.A. area. His Central American roots have influenced his perspective in life. He started playing soccer at a young age and formed part of several clubs in the city of Burbank. He attended John Burroughs High School and was the starting varsity goalkeeper all four years, earning All-American Honors his senior year. His passion, motivation, and commitment run deep in his family as his father played professionally in his native country Guatemala.  Coach Marlon forms part of several semi-professional teams (Chivas USA Reserves, LA Blues). He continues to play the game with other semi-professional teams in the L.A. area.

“I want to give back to the youth all the joy and passion soccer gave me as a kid and I want to develop and share my knowledge of the game with them.”

Jose Espinoza

(BLFS Coach)

           Meet Jose, as he joins the BLFS coaching staff. A native of Pomona, CA Jose joins our team of staff with an amazing background and awareness of the community. Jose earned an Associate Degree from citrus college. His education, certifications, and coaching experience make him a great addition to the BLFS staff. His playing experience includes the youth academies of Chivas De Guadalajara, Mexico. 

Jose enjoys learning and is always looking to sharpen his coaching abilities. He looks to coach a the high level of the soccer world.

Julio Castillo

(Master Coach)

             Meet Julio, as he joins the BLFS coaching staff. Julio currently coaches at L A Mission College possessing numerous years of coaching success at the highest competitive levels in the academy, club, college, and high school soccer.

In his first season as head coach, Castillo led the Los Angeles Mission College Men’s soccer team to its first playoff appearance in many years. Castillo also led the Real So Cal Boys U-18 Academy team to the finals and was named Far West Coach of the Year. He won the United States Youth Soccer National Championship with his U-14 boys Valley United Blast club team, which contributed to his winning Youth Coach of the Year honors. Castillo’s Valley United Boys ‘91 squad won League and League Cup in 2002 and 2003. He also led his teams to a National State Cup Championship and Far West Regional title in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Castillo coached his Boys ‘92 team to League titles in 2003 and 2004.

At the high school ranks, Castillo was the head coach of the Reseda High School Boys’ varsity team for six years, in which the Regents made the playoffs every season. Among the Northridge players, Castillo coached while at RHS were Matador All-Americans Edwin Miranda and Willie Sims. In 1998, Castillo and the Regents won the City Championship and he was named Coach of the Year. Castillo was also an assistant with the Pierce College women’s team and helped them reach the playoffs in their first season. He served as the assistant coach for the California State University of Northridge Women’s team for two seasons. Castillo has also coached at Louisville and Harvard-Westlake High Schools.

The native of Guatemala earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cal State Northridge in 2002. Castillo currently lives in Lake Balboa, California with his wife and their children.

Jesus Macias

             Meet Jesus, as he joins the BLFS coaching staff. Soccer has been a vital part of his life since he can remember. He grew up playing within the traditional structure in elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiately here in the U.S. Even though he did not play club soccer he was still able to find success and reach a high level of soccer.  He played at Lennox Academy, and for two years at the University of California Irvine.

 Coaching has also been a major part of my cognitive development of the game.  He teaches PE at an elementary level, always the technique of all sports, and teaches soccer fundamentals during the spring. He feels coaching is another passion of his besides playing.

"Assisting in developing players not only in skills and tactics but also on the mental aspect is enjoyable, especially when you know the kids are having fun. I enjoy coaching, especially when education is involved since we show the kids how to balance both sports and school, and how each affects one another"

 School helps students stay disciplined, in which a coaching philosophy such as "discipline is one of the important factors to achieving success". Improving as a coach keeps me motivated.
